Union Corners housing construction is delayed

The first form of $ 60 million of mixed-use Union Corners projection t stopped and housing will not be this year, developer Todd McGrath Tuesday.
He said that the construction planned 140 condominiums and 63 apartments will not begin before a certain maturity of detail is in place.
"We believe that commercial development should lead the way," said McGrath. "The siding should be suspended for at least this year. Our belief was that if we could get quality retail to serve the shelter, he would be successful."
McGrath, who has built other residential projects, including condominiums and fourth Nolen Shore Terrace Lofts, said he may find a commercial developer to help develop the 15 acres near paraphernalia East Washington Avenue, Winnebago and streets Milwaukee.
A wee shop and a health clinic might be possible for commercial uses of the plot, he said. The Willy Street Co-op was interested in opening a second delivery to the site, he said, but the co-op recently announced it will open at the Metropolitan in Mount condominiums world, 333 W. Mifflin St.
